BEST TIPS FOR USING MAKO
- The MAKO is designed for surface snorkeling, not diving.
- Perfect for kids, novice swimmers, and light adventurers. It helps beginners learn to swim and adds fun to water play. Easy to use, ideal for nearshore exploration.
- Avoid lifting the motor out of the water at the third gear, as it may shut down due to overcurrent protection. If this happens, remove the battery and restart.
- Fast-Speed Exploring: Arms straight, kickboard in front, body aligned with the board.
- Comfortable Exploring: Arms bent, kickboard at your chest or abdomen, body resting on the board.
- Afloat: With no power, hold the kickboard at your chest or abdomen.
1. Get Ready:
- Ensure all 4 indicator lights are on.
- Insert and lock the battery.
2. Start Using:
- Press both buttons to power up.
- Press the right button to speed up while holding the left button.
- Press the left button to slow down while holding the right button.
- Release one or both buttons to power off.
3. Remove the Battery:
- Remove normally. If it’s stuck due to sand or water, lightly tap the board on a soft surface with the battery side down.
4. Clean and Maintain:
- Rinse all parts, including the battery, with fresh water.
- Charge the battery to 50% before storing.

if it wasn’t for the fact that it needs a reset by disconnecting the battery every time it goes out of the water abruptly. The battery life is great, the pull is strong, my kid is six and enjoys it a lot. So do I. And my wife.

Kids love it, battery last decently long with kids riding it, probably need to have a second battery for back up while other on is charging.

While the manufacturer says for 12 years or older, the size weight and power output make it very suitable for kids younger that 12, provided they wear a PFD and are adult supervised. Also, we added a paddleboard style leash. The battery lasts about thirty minutes which is ok because is forces the boys to take breaks while recharging, and sets defined intervals for them to take turns.

My 5 year old can't swim on his own yet, so we've been using the kid's pool floaties that are a vest with inflated arm floats. Unfortunately, when we want to play with other toys that move like a water scooter we have, someone has to remain stationary with him. What is great about this kickboard is that it lets him hang on and scoot around on his own. Grabbing onto the sides and using the controls is super simple and he had no problem immediately picking it up. Another nice thing for a younger one is that it isn't super fast, so he doesn't have any fear about using it like he does with some other motorized toys we've gotten him in the past. It seems to float well, and is perfect for use in a pool, though we've yet to try it on a lake I think it would be fine there in the kind of water you'd allow your child into.My only wish is that this had the same battery pack as our larger water scooter from the same manufacturer, and while it isn't a big deal, which would have been a really nice bonus. Otherwise, it has plenty of power for what it is, and when the battery dies, it is still a perfectly functional kickboard.

This was even more fun than I hoped it would be. I wondered if it would really have enough power to pull a grown adult or if it was more designed for kids/teens, but it works great for adults too! I took this along last weekend on our yearly family outing to the river, where a bunch of us take boats out to a sandbar and set up for the day with lawn chairs, pool floats, and various water toys/activities. I tried this first and instantly all the kids and teens were lined up wanting to ride with it. All the big, fun pool floats were promptly cast aside and every one wanted to do some laps with this.What's fun about this is you get to actually move around in the water, compared to using pool floats where you just drift around. We even had someone bring a jet ski, but the teens and kids couldn't drive that, just ride along. With this the kids could actually control and ride it themselves, which they loved. This was a huge hit!
